I am one of the lucky ones. My cancer was very aggressive, but caught early. I never had to worry about insurance, and my employer was incredibly supportive. And today, I am cancer free. I am not the first in my family to have breast cancer, both my mom and my aunt battled through it. But I hope I am the last.
In order to raise awareness, and money, for breast cancer, I am participating in AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer. The walk is 39.3 miles over 2 days, and it's going to be tough. My body is not the same since my treatment, the chemo triggered joint pain that doesn't go away, and walking 26.2 miles on day 1 and 13.1 on day 2 will, without a doubt, be a challenge.
But, if you know me, you know there is no point doing it if it's not a challenge! A big part of the Avon 39 is fundraising, and that is where you come in.
I AM REQUIRED TO RAISE AT LEAST $1,800 TO EARN MY 39, BUT I PLAN TO RAISE MUCH, MUCH MORE! I HOPE THAT I CAN COUNT ON YOUR SUPPORT!
You can make a donation right here on my webpage by clicking the "Donate Now" button to the right. If you prefer to write a check, click the "Donate By Mail" button and follow the instructions on the form.
Thank you for your support in helping me ensure that others have access to healthcare and the support they need for themselves and their families!
