Team API

Welcome, and thank you for visiting TEAM API'S AVON 39 team page! Shirley, Angela, Carrie, Micki, Rachel and Tiffany are committed to making a difference and bring awareness to BREAST CANCER!

Dedicated to Vicki Phifer Espey

Vicki, who may have lost the fight but never gave up! Vicki was a beautiful and loving soul (both inside and out)! From her existence, she excelled as a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, wife, mother, stepmother and friend, loved by all.  Your memory will remain forever in those who knew and loved you, remembered for your beauty, kindness, strength and endurance.  You are loved and cherished by all.

This 39 is for the families of the ones who lost their fight!  Aunt Carol, Sherry, Theresa, Josh, Kennedy and Taylor.  This is the 5th year anniversary of the day you lost your daughter, your sister, your mom.  We can't express how much love and admiration we have for you.  We wish to honor Vicki's memory and the sacrifices made by those who supported her during her fight and the courage to rebuild their lives after their loss.

 Dedicated to Phyliss Burton

"Sis, Phyliss Burton, this 2017 AVON 39 Walk is for you, a SURVIVOR! You are one of the humblest, kind and loving persons I have ever known.  A wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend! I thank God for his loving kindness in helping you to be a survivor and may you have many, many more wonderful years. Love, your younger, not little sister, "Shirley."

Dedicated to Juanita Tucke

My 39 is for my grandmother, Juanita Tucke.  Growing up she was a prominent figure in my life.  From summers spent RVing across Texas and New Mexico, to endless hours spent playing games and laughing.  She was there for every milestone and every achievement.  Sadly, she lost her battle with breast cancer just two months before my college graduation.  She taught me so much about life and what it means to be a strong woman.  I live every day hoping that she would be proud of what I have accomplished and of the person I have become.  In her memory and honor, I will complete this journey.

The list of women who are fighting or have fought their battle against breast cancer is many.  The below are those that have touched our lives.  To all of you,

We all know that there's strength in numbers, so it’s with great strength that we’ll work and walk toward putting an end to the suffering caused by breast cancer. We each have our reasons for participating - - whether it’s a personal fight with breast cancer, the struggle or loss of a loved one, or a deep commitment to the cause.

We've each made a big commitment. We’ll spend the next few months training to prepare for a walk of up to a marathon and a half. Each team member is required to raise at least $1,800 in donations. But because we're in this together, we know that, with your help, we can do it.

Please support Team API. If you'd prefer to write a check, just contact one of us and we'll send you the form and information.

Please check back here frequently to see how we're doing, and thanks in advance for your support!
