Welcome, and thank you for visiting our AVON 39 team page!
Walking for Many we have lost
We have all lost family and friends near and dear to us to cancer. Our family lost Carol in 2002 to breast cancer. Since then we have had a mission to help eradicate this horrible disease and have chosen the Avon 39 Walk to End Breast Cancer as the vehicle. Joan and Ann have walked in many Avon Walks in the past fourteen years, including the 3 day, sixty mile walk in Dallas in 2002. I will be 75 in March, 2017. Considering there may not be too many more opportunities to walk together, Sue and I, Ann and Travis, and Joan and Kate have registered for the Washington, DC walk May 6th And 7th, 2017. We are team “Walking for Many” in memory of all loved ones lost to cancer. ( Added April 16, Due to a recent diagnosis of arthritis in both hips, Sue has decided to be our Chief Cheer Leader instead of walkng. You will find her in our photos however.)
In order to participate in the Avon 39, our team has committed to raising $10,800. Donations are tax deductible for Americans and go to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade where it is used to pay for cancer research as well as for diagnosis and treatment for those unable to pay. We pay for the cost of getting to Washington DC., all meals and lodging there, our team tee shirts as well as two pairs of good walking shoes.
We are within the last ten days of the walk and we need your help. Donating is easy and no donation is too big or too small. Please follow this link to the Walking for Many website and click on the name of one of the team members. Please select one of us whose total is under $1,800.
All major credit cards are accepted. Donations in a currency other than US dollars will be converted to US dollars. If you have a problem donating, please email at email@example.com.
Please help if you can.
If you would like to come to DC in May to cheer us on, we will send you details of where we are staying and the dates we will be there. Avon provides cheering stations and you are welcome at the opening and closing ceremonies. Additionally, if you wish to walk with us, we would love to have you nand it is never too late. Contact one of us for more details or email jerry. firstname.lastname@example.org. One of us will contact you.
