As you know, I'm walking 39.3 miles to raise money to help eradicate breast cancer. What you may not know is what makes a person crazy enough to attempt something like this.
Well, in November 2016 my mom found out she had uterine cancer. And while the Avon Foundation's primary focus is breast cancer, much of the research they do benefits uterine, ovarian, and cervical cancers, too. (Plus there are no catchy slogans like, "I love wombs" for uterine cancer.)
Luckily my mom's cancer is in remission and she's on the road to recovery. But many other moms, sisters, aunts, wives, and daughters face their own battles with this awful disease every day.
So I'm lacing up my sneakers and taking on 39.3 miles in NYC. Your contribution to this effort is valued and appreciated more than you will know.
Because blisters are temporary. Fierce is forever.
